Sigvaldason Family Cookbook - A Status Report and CALL for NARRATIVES
Sigvaldason Family Cookbook
A
Status Report as of April 20, 2013
Thank you so much for all the recipes
received so far for the Sigvaldason Family Cookbook. The recipes are now in the
recipe software arranged in chapters. The cookbook (title will be determined
later) is still in progress with approximately 300 recipes. If you have a recipe you
still would like to include, please send the recipe to either of us by mail or
email.
What is in the works: we would like to
include a few chapters for the cookbook about the Sigvaldason family members,
including a short genealogy and some photographs. The Sigvaldason family photo
of Bjorn and Lara Sigvaldason and their sixteen children is among those to be
included.
A
Call for Short Narratives
A chapter on memories of the kitchen of
the original Sigvaldason House and/or the types of foods served by Gudjona
Lara Sigvaldason is being planned. The cookbook collection has a few of Lara’s
recipes, but we want to check with you to see if there are any more recipes of
Lara’s.
As younger members of the family may have
never seen or don’t recall the original Sigvaldason kitchen as it was
when Bjorn and Lara lived there, this is a call for narratives of what Lara did
or the foods she served in her kitchen of the Sigvaldason House located in the Arborg
Heritage Village. The narrative can be short--doesn’t have to be long--a
paragraph of your memories of that kitchen or food served would be greatly appreciated.
With our thanks and love, Margaret and Carol
